A Guide by Levant Lane

Hi, Paola here, Levant Lane's Head Creative - I make all your florals! The wedding season is coming up and we're t-minus 2 weeks until wedding vendors really start filling up their calendars.

If you're reading this in preparation for your own wedding - CONGRATULATIONS! 🥳

Now let's talk about my fave thing - flowers. Many couples have no idea how much to budget for their wedding florals or where to even start. To help, I put together some examples of flower wedding budgets and what items are covered within different budget ranges.

There’s a lot of flexibility when it comes to figuring out a budget for your wedding flowers. It’s important to know, as a couple, how important fresh flowers are to you for your wedding day. In my experience, there are two types of couples - those that feel that flowers aren’t a central focus for their day and those that feel that flowers are essential and in fact the main component that will bring their once in lifetime wedding to life. Both are totally fine (but if you ask me - I think the addition of even SOME flowers are the way to go 😉)!

As a rule of thumb, we suggest that your floral budget is anywhere from 10-15% of your overall wedding budget. If you are looking for Pinterest-worthy, abundant designs, we suggest investing 20-25% of your overall wedding budget. Most of our couples invest $3,500-$5,500 but some spend less or budget more based on their preference. Remember - it’s your day and the day should reflect your taste and style! Below is a run down of what to expect when budgeting for your florals.

We hope this helps you figure out where you are, what you can have, and where you can save.

$600-$1,500 - "The intimate wedding" Most often, this budget will allow for bridal bouquet, a few bridesmaid bouquets, as well as boutonnieres for the groom and groomsmen. Depending on the number in the bridal party, it could also account for boutonnieres and corsages for family members.

If you are only requiring personals for you and your fiancé, this budget may cover a few centerpieces or a floral ceremony backdrop. This budget is ideal for a very intimate wedding.

$2,000-$3,500 - "Minimal flowers, plz" Depending on the size of the bridal party, this budget may cover all personal flowers - bouquets, boutonnieres - as well as allow for some table centerpieces for the reception. We would suggest smaller arrangements on each table or a collection of bud vases, or a mix of both.

Or, instead of table flowers, this could allow for a large ceremony feature (like an archway with florals) or a reception feature (like a hanging installation).

Alternatively, if your bridal party is smaller (3 sets each or less), this budget may allow for both a ceremony feature piece as well as a reception feature installation. This budget is ideal for a smaller wedding needing minimal flowers.

*$4,000-$6,500 - "Let's partaaay!" This price range falls within our typical full service weddings. This budget will cover bridal party personal flowers as well as a feature element at the ceremony and reception. It may also cover small table arrangements or bud vases and candles. Again, this all depends on wedding party size and guest count. If you decide to repurpose your ceremony feature at the reception, this budget should allow for standard size centerpieces, statement arrangements (for the welcome area, the bar, and the cake table), and candles. This budget is ideal for a p-a-r-t-a-a-a-y!

*This price range falls within our typical full service weddings.

$6,500-$9,000 - "I love flowers, I need them everywhere!" With this budget, we are often able to provide a collection of personal flowers, large statement/impact pieces at the ceremony (for example, urn arrangements or and archway PLUS aisle flowers OR feature chuppah installation). For the reception, this budget should allow for a hanging installation as well as centerpieces and candles for the tables. This budget is ideal for the couple that loves flowers.

Hopefully this helps prepare you for what to expect when budgeting for your wedding and your florals. Every couple, event, and budget is different, making it almost impossible to go over every detail without a proper consultation (...if you're ready to book a consultation with me, go ahead and click: here - I can't wait to meet you!)

We are excited to accommodate couples regardless of their budget and we’re always happy to share suggestions regarding where your money will be best spent as well as how to make the greatest impact at your event. It’s also important to be aware of labor charges. Each venue has it own rules regarding the timeframe in which we are able to set up and when we need to tear down. All of this has an impact on our costs for the day and the amount of team members we need to work the event.

Lastly, every florist prices differently and it might be that other florists in your area charge more or less for some items than we do. At Levant Lane, you'll work directly with me so I can bring your vision to life and even suggest new flowers or ideas you've probably never even thought of, making your florals even more unique and special to YOU.

That's all for now, if you have any questions, feel free to shoot us an email here.

Until next time,
